02 Jul 2025 | BRO CINEMA: BEST PRODUCTION COMPANY IN THE WORLD.

ONE SHOW AWARDS

We are extremely proud to announce that BRO CINEMA won the Best Production Company in the world in NYC at the ONE SHOW Awards.
As the most prestigious event in the Advertisement industry in the USA, it marks an extraordinary landmark for us, and for a Portuguese company.
After last year’s Grand Prix at the Cannes Lions, to be considered the best in the world by your peers is difficult to put in words.
This achievement is a landmark for the way we work, and the way we promote creative partnerships at every level.
As a company based in Portugal, we have been able to work, host, and partner up with the absolute best in the world at every creative and logistic level, and we have proven to rise up to any briefing and challenge, and to every request.
This award is therefore the product of hard work and sheer tenacity, sometimes hard to pinpoint, but now showcased through many who believe in what we do (and how we do it).
We take this accolade as a symbol of Portuguese creativity at its best, and of our ability to produce something effective and singular that leaves a mark.
Thank you to all who are part of this.

17 Sep 2024 | HOW BRO CINEMA SHOT A GLOBAL CAMPAIGN FOR EDP WHICH IS BLESSED BY ETERNAL SUNSHINE

SUNNY SIDE UP.

For every sustainable idea, and from every ecological research point, EDP has been a world leader (which makes us extremely proud) in energy production and distribution.
The fact that a Portuguese company has in its DNA the extraordinary ability to innovate and take fast-forward steps in every single field of its operational expertise, turned this new campaign, where solar power is at its core, into a singular, poetic, and truly original adventure which took BRO Cinema around the globe.
After months of hard work and team spirit, we are incredibly proud to preview the “BELIEVE IN THE SUN” campaign.
At the heart of it is EDP’s deeply strong belief in a greener future, or as we like to call it, a future with a sunny side up.

19 Aug 2024 | TORONTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL AND SAN SEBASTIÁN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

ON FALLING by Laura Carreira

BRO Cinema is very proud and happy to announce that Laura Carreira's first feature film, ON FALLING, will be presented at this year’s edition of the Toronto International Film Festival (World Première at the Discovery Program TIFF) and at the San Sebastián Film Festival.
The film, a co-production of BRO Cinema with Sixteen Films and supported by BFI, BBC, Goodfellas, ICA, and Screen Scotland, is now making its international debut on the Festival circuit/contest, starting with two of the most prestigious cinematic events in the world, after a preview presentation at the BFI’s Great 8 Section at Cannes.

The intricate, complex, and raw story of Aurora, played by Joana Santos, who leads an international cast, is a poignant and contemporary portrait of many social and cultural layers. This is Laura’s Feature Film debut after multi-awarded Short Films over the last few years, and we can’t wait to see it on the big screen.
It also marks an important step in our long lasting commitment to run after the best stories in the world, and translating them into the moving image.

19 Aug 2024 | ‏HOW TWO SHORTS HAVE PROVED TO BE A LONG SUCCESS STORY

‏‏‎ ‎‏
The Tuner of Silences and Before the Moonrise by Mário Patrocínio, still going strong around the world.

The two short movies, which Mário put out this year, have been making a tour around the world with several awards at dozens of Film Festivals, and have taken him from intimate open mike talks to large conference halls to tell the incredible stories behind each project.

Teams from the two sides of the Atlantic, which were part of these journeys, became part of a singular way of storytelling and created small but unbreakable communities which gathered over talent and are still linked through incredible memories. To see the two short movies being screened from Canada to Greece is proof that each one holds the same inspirational framework: to believe that it’s the small details that matter and that the people behind the camera are equally important than those in front of it.
